New Central Research Facility

TIFGA today announced plans to rebuild and expand its central research facility on the grounds of the former Vienna site decommissioned earlier this year.

The new Institute is envisioned as a larger, more advanced, and more resilient research environment, incorporating updated safety architecture, next-generation laboratories, and expanded international collaboration spaces. Construction planning is already underway, with initial groundwork expected to begin following regulatory review.

The project has been made possible through the strong support and advocacy of David Imhauser, Board Member, and Ambrosia DeWinter, long-standing patron of the Institute.

“This initiative represents a decisive investment in the future of responsible scientific research,” a TIFGA spokesperson said. “Mr. Imhauser and Lady DeWinter have been instrumental in advancing a vision that not only restores the Institute, but significantly strengthens it.”

The rebuilt facility will consolidate TIFGA’s research activities under a single, purpose-designed structure while incorporating lessons learned from earlier infrastructure generations. The Institute emphasized that the new site will exceed all existing international safety and oversight standards.

TIFGA views the reconstruction as a reaffirmation of its mission and long-term commitment to scientific advancement, transparency, and institutional stability.

Further details regarding architectural design and timelines will be announced at a later date.
